Good News - Money is Still Available for You to Clean the Air
In California, recent air quality has been spotty. And that was before the fire around Malibu. “Particles in smoke can get deep into the lungs.” Of course, it’s low-income people who live with the most polluted every-day air.
The good news is that federal money remains available to help you decrease pollution … at least for the next few weeks!! (click link for tax-break forecast)
Further good news is that many people have grabbed these financial incentives to switch to a lower-polluting lifestyle.
I spoke with someone from a local HVAC company who told me they “can’t keep electric heat pumps in stock” and “we hardly sell gas furnaces anymore”. An insulation contractor told me they’ve been installing recycled materials in attics and walls - made from old blue-jeans, or glass bottles, or cardboard & newspapers. One local car dealer said they leased/sold 80 electric cars (EVs) on Black Friday weekend.
What about yourself? Maybe you haven’t gotten off your sofa yet? Shopping can be a hassle. So let me help you avoid, or minimize, the shopping stress (contact info below).
- electric induction stovetops, which are inexpensive even without the tax break
- home insulation, which lowers utility bills
- large, but portable, batteries which provide electricity during blackouts
Buy a new electric car and you’ll get a $7,500 tax credit:
- perhaps the impressive Chevy Equinox
- or take a 2-year lease with the also impressive Hyundai Ioniq5 ($190/month!)
- or get a $4,000 credit for a used EV, such as the good old Chevy Bolt
This Christmas season, why not give a gift of healthier lungs and cleaner air?
